Terms and conditions

These terms apply to your use of PlateRunner (platerunner.dk and api.platerunner.dk). PlateRunner is run by Piklo Systems, CVR 32709192, Tjebberupvej 101, 4300 Holbæk, Denmark. Contact: kontakt@platerunner.dk.
By creating a key, you accept these terms and our data processing agreement.
1. The service
PlateRunner is an API: you send a number plate and get technical vehicle data back. Danish data comes from the Danish Motor Vehicle Agency’s (Motorstyrelsen) extract of the Danish vehicle register (DMR), which we update weekly. Dutch data is fetched from RDW open data when you make a lookup.
Data is provided as is. We work hard to deliver it correctly, but we do not guarantee that the registers are free of errors or fully up to date, and we do not guarantee that the service is always available.
2. Plans and prices
All prices are per month, excluding VAT. Danish customers pay in DKK, everyone else in EUR.

The Free plan costs nothing and requires no payment. Lookups beyond your plan’s limit are refused until the next month starts or you change plan.
An extra package gives you 10,000 lookups for DKK 49 / €7. The package only applies in the month it is bought, and unused lookups do not carry over.
3. Fair use on Unlimited
Unlimited means no monthly limit, subject to fair use: no more than 20 calls per second, and the register may not be copied, resold or republished as a database.
4. Your key
Each customer has one set of keys. You may use the key anywhere — in apps, on websites and on servers — with no restriction to specific domains. You are responsible for keeping the key secret. Lookups made with your key count towards your usage, even if someone else has got hold of it. Let us know if you think your key has leaked.
5. Misuse
If we suspect that a key is being used to extract the register — for example, very large numbers of different plates — we may pause the key. We will then contact you by email, and the key is reopened once the matter is resolved.
6. Cancellation
Paid plans run one month at a time with no commitment. You cancel or change plan in the customer portal. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for. Months that have started are not refunded.
7. Liability
Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the last 3 months. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost revenue, lost profit or loss of data.
8. Changes
If we change these terms, we will notify you by email 30 days before the change takes effect.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are settled by the District Court of Holbæk (Retten i Holbæk). The terms are also available in Danish and Dutch; the Danish text prevails.
